THE SCCUL ENTERPRISE AWARDS

This is the sixth year of the SCCUL Enterprise Awards, an initiative of SCCUL Enterprises Ltd. The 2016 SCCUL Enterprise Awards Ceremony will be hosted by NUI Galway and the ceremony will take place in the Bailey Allen Hall, NUI Galway on Friday 29th January 2016. The SCCUL Enterprise Awards Business Expo will run in conjunction with the awards ceremony and all entrants in the SCCUL Enterprise Awards are invited to attend.

Highlights for 2016

€10,000 Cash Prize for SCCUL Enterprise Awards Overall Winner
For the sixth year running SCCUL Enterprises will award the overall winner a €10,000 cash prize. The overall winner will be chosen from the winners of six categories (Agriculture & Food, Arts Tourism & Sport, Business Services, Consumer Goods & Services, ICT and Social Enterprise).

SCCUL Enterprise Awards €5,000 Bursary
SCCUL Enterprises is delighted to announce the new ‘SCCUL Enterprise Awards Bursary’, which will give one local entrepreneur or charity/not for profit organisation a major boost to his/her business. There is no separate application process for the bursary. The Bursary is sponsored by St. Columba’s Credit Union.

The Categories

SCCUL Enterprises are inviting entries from businesses or organisations in the following categories

Business Services

Sponsor: Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group

Services Group incorporates all services provided to businesses including but not limited to PR, Marketing, Legal,
HR, Recruitment, Financial, Consultancy.

Agriculture & Food

Sponsor: Galway City Council & Galway County Council

Including but not limited to food science, food production, beverage production, horticulture, fish & seafood, and aquaculture.

ICT

Sponsor: Galway City Council & Galway County CouncilIncluding but not limited to social media, digital media, cloud computing, web based applications.

Consumer Goods & Services

Sponsor: SSL Logistics

includes goods and services provided directly to consumers including but not limited to Retail, Hospitality, Financial services, Education & Training.

Arts, Tourism & Sports

Sponsor: Galway City Council & Galway County Council
Including but not limited to tourism, entertainment and the leisure industry.

Social Enterprise

Sponsor: Mazars
To include not for profit enterprises with a core ethos that prioritises social impact and improvements in human and environmental well being.

THE PRIZES

The 2016 SCCUL Enterprise Awards has a prize fund of over €50,000 which will be shared among the overall winner, bursary recipient, category winners, runners up, students and other prize winners.

Overall Winner

The overall winner will be chosen from the winners of six categories (Agriculture & Food, Arts Tourism & Sport, Business Services, Consumer Goods & Services, ICT and Social Enterprise) and will receive a cash prize of €10,000 sponsored by SCCUL Enterprises, a specially commissioned trophy, and a two page business profile worth
€2,500 in a special SCCUL Enterprise Awards pull out supplement in the Galway Independent.*

Category Winners

Winners in each of the six categories will receive a cash prize of €1,000, a specially commissioned trophy and a full page business profile worth €1,250 in the SCCUL Enterprise Awards pull out
supplement in the Galway Independent.*

Runners Up

The runner up in each category will receive
a specially commissioned plaque, and a half page business profile worth €750 in the SCCUL Enterprise Awards pull out supplement in the Galway Independent.*

SCCUL Enterprise Awards €5,000 Bursary

This €5000 cash award is designed to support a Galway based business or charity in need of financial support to deal with the day to day challenges in the early years of business.
Applicants complete the SCCUL Enterprise Awards application process and the judges will shortlist applicants for the bursary after the preliminary interviews.

HOW TO ENTER?

It is easy to enter by either filling in the online entry form or downloading the application form and submitting the completed form. Completed hard copy applications must be returned to SCCUL Enterprise Awards, SCCUL Enterprise Centre, Castlepark Road, Ballybane by 5.30pm on Friday 6th November 2015. All entries submitted will receive a confirmation email. In the case of online entries an automated email will issue.
